Senomyx Partners with the Community to Help Save the San Diego River

April 2, 2012 Senomyx Community Involvement

Senomyx_Employees-JoandLilianaOn Saturday, March 24th, Senomyx employees and their children got together for a river cleanup organized by the San Diego River Park Foundation (SDRPF) in Mission Valley East.

SDRPF is a community-based grassroots non-profit organization that was founded in 2001. SDRPF works with community groups and other organizations dedicated to the San Diego River, the River Park, and its wildlife, recreation, water, cultural and community values to better engage the public in this project. As a public benefit corporation, SDRPF relies upon donations and support from the community, as well as public and private grants, for its general operations. The organization’s mission is to preserve the greenbelt from the mountains to the ocean along the 52 mile long San Diego River. This greenbelt is a trail system in addition to a clean and healthy river system that connects a diversity of parks, open spaces, public places and community facilities spread out along the length of the river.

Senomyx_Employees-KatiaandMiguelIMPACT: Since 2004, SDRPF volunteers have removed more than 1.3 million lbs. of trash from the San Diego River. Thousands of people have joined their friends and families to make a difference.

Senomyx is proud to be a part of this large impact! If you would like to help save a river and create a healthier community, please become a volunteer. You can sign-up for the next river clean-up at the San Diego River Park Foundation’s volunteer page.
